The short version
Screen Ease collects your browsing time data and break activity to show you your own screen time stats. We store it securely in your account. We never sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything other than running the product. The AI assistant (Ease) sends your usage summary to Google Gemini to generate responses no raw browsing history, just totals.
Who we are
Screen Ease is a Chrome extension and web dashboard that helps you understand and manage your screen time. It is an independent product, not affiliated with any company.
What data we collect

What we do NOT collect
- The full URLs or page titles of pages you visit only the domain
- The content of any pages you visit
- Passwords, form inputs, or any personal data you type anywhere
- Your location
- Data from other Chrome extensions you have installed
- Any data from pages you visit in Incognito mode
The Ease AI sidebar
When you send a message to Ease (the AI assistant inside your dashboard), we send the following to Google Gemini API to generate a response:
- Your total screen time for today
- Your daily screen time limit
- Your top 5 most visited domains today (names and time totals only)
- The message you typed
We do not send your full browsing history, account details, or anything beyond those usage totals. Google Gemini's use of this data is governed by Google's API Terms of Service. Ease conversations are not stored in our database — they exist only in your browser session and are cleared when you close the tab or click Clear.
How we store and protect your data
All your screen time data is stored in Supabase, a secure cloud database. Your data is tied to your account and is not accessible by other users. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not store your password authentication is handled by Supabase Auth.
Data sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not use your browsing data for any purpose other than showing you your own screen time stats and powering the features you use.
The only third parties that receive any part of your data are:
- Supabase: for database and authentication hosting
- Google Gemini API: for Ease AI responses (usage summaries only, as described above)
- Vercel: for hosting the dashboard web app
Your rights and data deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Account & Settings inside the dashboard. Deleting your account permanently removes all your screen time data, break history, and preferences from our database. This cannot be undone.
You can also uninstall the Chrome extension at any time from chrome://extensions. Uninstalling stops all data collection immediately. Your historical data remains in your account until you delete it.
Chrome extension permissions
Screen Ease requests the following Chrome permissions and uses them only for the purposes stated:
- Tabs: to detect which domain is currently active and measure time spent
- Storage: to temporarily store session data locally before syncing to your account
- Alarms: to schedule break reminders at your chosen frequency
- Notifications: to display break reminder notifications
We do not request permission to read or change page content beyond what is necessary to show the break overlay prompt.
Children
Screen Ease is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes to this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Screen Ease after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
