Terms of Use
Last updated: July 2025
The short version
Use Screen Ease for its intended purpose tracking your own screen time. Don't abuse the service, try to break it, or use it in ways that could harm others. It's free and we provide it as-is. We're not liable if something goes wrong. That's the gist of it.
Accepting these terms
By installing the Screen Ease Chrome extension or creating an account on the Screen Ease dashboard, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the product.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after updates means you accept the new terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
What Screen Ease is
Screen Ease is a Chrome extension and web dashboard that tracks the time you spend on websites, reminds you to take breaks, and provides an AI assistant (Ease) that helps you understand your browsing habits. It is a personal productivity tool intended for individual use.
Your account
You need to create an account to use Screen Ease. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You may not create an account on behalf of someone else without their permission.
You can delete your account at any time from Account & Settings. Deletion is permanent and removes all your data.
Acceptable use
You may use Screen Ease to track your own screen time and manage your own digital habits. You may not:
- Use Screen Ease to monitor another person's browsing without their knowledge and consent
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the extension or dashboard
- Use automated tools to scrape, overload, or abuse the service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Use Screen Ease for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit Screen Ease without permission
The Ease AI assistant
The Ease AI sidebar uses Google Gemini to generate responses based on your screen time data. AI responses are generated automatically and may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not rely on Ease for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. The AI is designed to help you reflect on your own habits — nothing more.
By using Ease, you agree that summaries of your usage data (totals only, not raw browsing history) may be sent to Google Gemini to generate responses. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Availability and changes
Screen Ease is provided free of charge. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the service. We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time without notice. We may also stop providing the service entirely, though we will try to give reasonable notice if that happens.
We are not responsible for any data loss that occurs due to service interruptions, bugs, or discontinuation. We recommend not relying on Screen Ease as your only record of important information.
Intellectual property
Screen Ease, its logo, design, and underlying code are the property of the Screen Ease developer. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works without permission.
Your screen time data belongs to you. We don't claim ownership of your data. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle it.
Disclaimer of warranties
Screen Ease is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the extension will accurately capture every second of screen time, that break reminders will fire at exact times, or that the AI responses will always be correct.
Use the product as a helpful guide for your habits not as a precise measurement instrument.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Screen Ease developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the product. This includes but is not limited to data loss, loss of productivity, or decisions made based on Screen Ease data or Ease AI responses.
